Southern Pine would like to take this opportunity to remind our members that require electrical medical equipment at home to have back-up supplies of oxygen tanks, etc. in the event of an unexpected outage. We work hard to avoid long power interruptions but cannot guarantee that outages will not occur as we prepare for Mississippi’s unpredictable spring and summer weather.

Members may provide a letter or a form from their physician or medical supplier stating that medical equipment is required and their account will be noted. In the event of a planned outage, we will attempt to notify these members of the date, time and expected length of outage. Medical equipment required notations on an account does not guarantee that a member’s service will be restored in any certain order as critical infrastructure accounts, public health and safety, take priority during outage events

Members requiring electrical medical equipment should plan now for unexpected emergencies and outages that might affect them. Members may contact their medical supplier for information and options available to them during power outages.

If you have any questions regarding required electrical medical equipment, please contact your nearest Southern Pine office. We will be glad to assist you in any way possible.
